Porsche Clear Side Marker Light Install

Porsche Clear Side Marker Light Install

I changed the side markers and here are some pics. I will say one thing, when popping the lens out I was afraid that I was going to break it, but it just took a pretty good pull to pop it free. The rest was easy. This is a small plug that I removed so I could get a scxrewdriver in to push on the release spring. I think it would have popped out without doing this. If I can do it anyone can do it, believe me! Russ This article was originally published by RussK on in the Planet-9 Forum.

Make Your Own Cayman Rear Diffuser (Apron) Grill Mesh

Make Your Own Cayman Rear Diffuser (Apron) Grill Mesh

Cayman Cosmetic Mods ,
I decided to make my own grill mesh to fill in the gaping holes in the rear bumper of my 2012 Cayman R. This is a very simple DIY and I did it in a few hours and for about $50. I think it turned out great. First, after much google searching and getting real smart on what kind of different mesh materials are available such as perforated, woven, or expanded, plastic, aluminum, steel, brass, etc, I came across the perfect material that I think looks much more finished than the expanded mesh used most often. It is a 0.25"…

987 Side Scoop Intakes

As some of you may recall, I installed the MotorLux carbon fiber side scoops a few years ago and they've remained on my car ever since. The side scoops lasted longer than MotorLux did (they are no longer in business). Truth be told, I was never overly fond of the way the driver's side scoop attached with must some wire bending to try and make it hold tight against the body of the car. It was a pain to reach around inside of the scoop and bend the wires so that everything would sort of stay in place. Enter Fluid987…

LED Lighting For Clear Engine Cover LED Lights

I have been looking around and could never find a "Install thread" on LED illumination for the HIP design cover for my Cayman. I have seen after pictures several times. Here is my go at it. First off I hate drilling and cutting into my Cayman. This install was all done with only one tiny self sealing hole poked in a rubber grommet. This also was a cheap mod. The whole project cost me about $35.00. Most items were bought from Amazon with the exception of the wire, insulating shield, heat shrink and connector. All this can be removed in…

This is a review and installation how-to of the Jtec 987 Cayman LED Tail lights. I purchased the 'Smoked Red + Clear Signals LED Tail Light'. Be careful as the other three options are dramatically different looking and though Oliver Tan will ask you to verify your choice you still want to be crystal clear which ones you want. The Smoked Red Tail Light option appears read when light is shining on it from the rear but changes to a deep burgundy when the light is not hitting the reflectors inside. It almost matches the Carmon Red color of my…

Cayman Cosmetic Mods, Cayman Performance Mods
First I would like to thank John over at Fabspeed for working with me to get a set of risers on the GT4 in time for one of the two events I was attending recently, and of course a special thanks to his whole team who provided something you'll see a little later in the article.   So first let's start with the risers themselves, here is a picture, black anodized aluminum with a textured finish similar to the stock factory risers: The holes are chamfered just like the factory risers and the hardware that Fabspeed sends is a pretty…
